Natural Products Expo West/SupplyExpo 2007 Attracts Record Attendance

ANAHEIM, Calif. (March 12, 2007) — Natural Products Expo West and SupplyExpo, the world’s largest natural, organic and healthy products trade show, posted 10 percent growth in overall attendance this year, with more than 47,000 attendees and 3,162 exhibits. With the natural and organic products industry growing by 9.1% annually, according to the most recent Market Overview study conducted by The Natural Foods Merchandiser™, Natural Products Expo West and SupplyExpo held March 8-11 in Anaheim, Calif., mirrored national trends toward healthier lifestyle choices, from grocery store to pharmacy to home.

Produced by New Hope Natural Media, a division of Penton Media, Natural Products Expo West/SupplyExpo covers the entire spectrum of healthy products, from product development to ingredient purchasing and manufactured products to retail. Now in its 27th year, the show continues to expand beyond grocery products to personal care, pet, healthy home and baby products, as well as clothing, wine and spirits.

"We always save new products to launch at Expo because everyone is here," said Wayne Link, CEO of Endangered Species Chocolate. "We took a record number of orders this year, and are thrilled with the show."

Thousands of new products debuted at the show, providing insights into key American consumer trends. Emerging product categories included probiotics, antioxidant foods and beverages, organic fiber, fair trade, and organic products targeted at infant and child demographics.

"The show offers companies an international stage to introduce new products and build key retailer relationships," said Fredrik M. Linder, president of New Hope Natural Media. "It's always exciting to see new categories begin to grow and new products take root here."

In addition to the active trade show floor, Natural Products Expo West/SupplyExpo 2007 featured numerous educational and networking opportunities. Event offerings included more than 70 seminars, highlighted by keynote speaker Eric Schlosser, who challenged participants to consider critical issues related to the food industry.
