Organic Farm Inspector Training and Call for Part-Time Inspectors

Organic agriculture in India is growing at a tremendous pace thanks to the increased support from Central and state Governments and the efforts of NGO sector. The world trade in organic products is also growing at a healthy pace of 15 to 20%. The government of India and the state governments have included organic farming in their current plan. To meet the increasing demand for Inspectors, INDOCERT is organizing the farm inspector training.

INDOCERT was established to provide quality inspection and certification services at affordable rates. Our quest for competency in certification has resulted in achieving Indian NPOP and EN 45011/ ISO 65 accreditations.? INDOCERT now undertakes certification work as per EU organic standards and issues certificates in India. INDOCERTalso inspect and certify operators for the US NOP standards. INDOCERT is internationally accredited for certification for the EUREPGAP standard by DAP, Germanyand thereby became the first national certification body to offer EUREPGAP ( certification in India. INDOCERT offers inspections for Naturland and BIO SUISSE standards. INDOCERT is under contract for doing inspections for bio.inspecta and FLOCert in India. Our training programmes for trainers have been received very well.

Aluva is situated 15 Km from Ernakulam. It is a main railway station on the Palakkad-Trivandrum route. It is half an hour drive from the Cochin international airport, well connected by road. The venue is 2.5 km from Aluva town on the nationalized (KSRTC) bus route to Perumbavoor. Bus fair from Aluva town to the venue is Rs. 3.00 and auto rickshaw charges Rs. 30


Accommodation will be provided to all participants.

Organic Farm Inspector coursesinclude instruction on the certification process, organic standards - Indian NSOP, EU (Regulation EEC 2092/91) and USDA NOP, how to inspect organic farms, on-farm processing, procedure for inspections for group certification with ICS, record keeping requirements, risk assessment, investigative skills, report writing, and ethics. Inspection field trips are taken in small groups and each attendee completes a written inspection report. A satisfactory score on the written assignment and written test are required to earn a Certificate of Completion.

Training fee

Training fee is Rs.10000 (Rupees Ten thousand only) per participant. This includes cost of accommodation, food and training course material. The amount may be sent as Demand Draft/ Cheque in favor of INDOCERT, Aluva.The travel cost to the venue and back, to be borne by the participants.

Number of participants

For an effective participation, the number of participants for the training programme is limited to 20. The admission to the training will be on ‘first- come-first- serve’ basis. The confirmation to the training will be intimated along with the acknowledgement of the fees received at the office.

INDOCERT is looking forpart-time inspectors to offer its quality certification services all over India. Successful candidates will be offered part time inspector position with INDOCERT.
