Au cœur du Var, au pied du Massif des Maures, le climat est idéal pour la culture de la vigne en agriculture biologique. C’est le choix qui a été fait par Camille, fille du propriétaire du domaine, qui a converti le vignoble en bio il y a quelques années.
La terre caillouteuse et profonde du terroir exceptionnel de Pierrefeu pousse les vignes à donner le meilleur d’elles-mêmes, pour offrir des vins d’une grande qualité.
Pour entretenir naturellement la vitalité des terres, elles sont travaillées régulièrement par des labours. Le domaine favorise l’enherbement pour développer la vie des sols, la santé des vignes, et préserver la biodiversité.
La vinification
Le vin est vinifié selon les principes de l’agriculture biologique.
Après avoir été récoltés, les raisins sont mis à macérer pendant quelques heures, puis sont pressés. Les jus obtenus sont ensuite débourbés, puis mis en fermentation sous températures contrôlées pendant une semaine environ.
Les vins sont ensuite sous-tirés, filtrés puis mis en bouteille, ou conservés en cuves.
Les cépages
Cette cuvée est un subtil assemblage de Grenache, Cinsault et Syrah.
La dégustation
La robe claire et le nez subtil aux arômes d’agrumes et de fruit blancs promettent une bouche complexe et fine marquée par des notes florales.
Servi entre 10 et 12°C, ce vin s’accordera parfaitement à vos apéritifs gourmands et à vos planchas de viandes et de poissons.

WINEMAKER’S INSIGHT
This Cabernet Franc opens with aromas of cherry stone and smoky notes. Displaying rich flavors of black cherry lead to plush tannins and a long, smooth finish.

The surface of the vineyard is of an ideal size to control the quality of the vines in accordance with organic agriculture certified ECOCERT. After 3 years of conversion, Château Grand Français received its Organic Agriculture accreditation in 2002.
No weedkiller or chemical treatments are ever used, only products permitted for organic certification are allowed.
5oo years of History
The name Grand Français comes from the occupation of Aquitaine by the English in the 14th century, during which time one of my distant ancestors distinguished himself probably by asserting the rights of the French Kingdom.
The winemaking cellars are adjoining the castle, and the vineyard is on a red gravel terroir where vines have been cultivated since the 15th century.
In days gone by, the Château Grand Français was a haven of peace and serenity, surrounded by 600 hectares of vineyards and farmland. Mixing cereals and vines, Grand Français traversed the centuries. Another time, another place...
My family did everything to keep the estate. It has been handed down from generation to generation to today.
As early as 1906, Château Grand Français was singled out for the excellent health condition of its vineyards and received the Medal of Agricultural Merit.
The harvest is done manually, each grape is chosen on the vine. A low yield for optimal quality.
