Established in 1992, the XHERDO company is specialized in the collection and production herbs and spices and essential oils extracted from the natural aromatic and medicinal plants of Albania. The company is also engaged in the cultivation of major herb and spice species as an alternative for the preservation of the aromatic and medicinal biodiversity; for the utilization of non-productive lands and for more job opportunities for the rural community.
Highlights of the company include:
? 26 major production operations in various regions of Albania
? Licensed to export to the EU and US markets
? Member of the international organizations such as International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movement (IFOAM), International Federation of Essences and Aroma Trade Chemicals (IFEAT) and Association of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants of Southeastern European Countries (AMAPSEEC).
XHERDO’s owner, Mr. Xhevit Hysenaj, is the Chairman of the Albanian Essential Oils Producers and Cultivators Association (EPCA), which is the only active association lobbying Albanian governmental institutions for a better performance of the Albanian herbs and spices industry, and promoting the potential of this industry regionally and internationally.
The average annual production is 2,000 tons of medicinal plans & around 11000 kg Essential Oils a year.
