Poland is Country of the Year at BioFach 2006

City tourists rave about Cracow and Gdansk. Nature-lovers dream of unspoilt forests, extensive Masurian Lakes and Baltic beaches with fine sand and unique shifting sand dunes. Gourmets indulge themselves with bigos, piroggen, makowiec... The Poles spoil their guests - and themselves - with sauerkraut stew, pasties or poppy-seed cake! More of these and other delicacies will be available in organic quality in future.

Poland is Country of the Year at BioFach 2006, which this time opens its doors from 16-19 February. Over 2,000 exhibitors and a good 33,000 trade visitors from all over the world are expected at the World Organic Trade Fair in the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg. Producers, organic farmers, traders, importers and exporters use their most important exhibition to cultivate contacts, prepare the ground for business and plan joint projects; more and more Polish experts are included among exhibitors and visitors. The new EU neighbour has already made a name for itself with attractive Polish pavilions in 2004 and 2005, when there was a lively demand for organic sausage, cheese, herbs, fruit and vegetables from Poland. The Country of the Year 2006 therefore intends to expand strongly again and bring 40 exhibitors to Nürnberg.
