| Description | Organic Asparagus racemosus Asparagus racemosus also known as Shatavari in Sanskrit is a species of Liliaceae family common throughout India. It grows one to two metres tall and prefers to take root in gravelly soil. It is a spiny shrub with reduced green spine like leaves and scrambling branches. It has fibrous roots with white root tubers that are numerous in number hence the name ‘Shatavari’ which means a hundred tubers. It is cultivated for the medicinal use of the root tubers for the prevention and treatment of gastric ulcers, dyspepsia and as a galactagogue. It is also planted in gardens for its ornamental value |
