East African Organic Conference in Tanzania in July 2013 a great success
"Sharing achievements made and lessons learned" was the theme of the conference, which was held in Dar es Salaam in Tanzania from Jula 2 to 4, 2013. It attracted almost 200 participants from 20 countries.

The conference had one main event and several thematic workshops and seminars on topics such as Participatory Guarantee Systems, Organic Policy, Aquaculture and Local Certification. The
participants also had the opportunity to visit the Saba-Saba fair, where there were organic products on display.
The declaration and all the presentations of the conference, some of which? inform about organic farming policy development in the East African countries,? are available at the website of the
International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM). The conference is well documented and the presentations give a good overall overview of the current situation in East Africa.
